Do We Ever Feel Qualified?
We are qualified to walk in God's will for our life and where the Spirit leads us.
I don't think I am alone when it comes to wondering what our purpose is in the Kingdom and if we are qualified to do it. Whether it be in our professional careers, hobbies, or volunteering at church there will always be the voice that will tell us we are not good enough; we don't have the qualifications.
“By ourselves we are not qualified in any way to claim that we can do anything. Rather, God makes us qualified.”
Over the last few years, I have been so grateful to have God lead me in so many areas in serving in The Kingdom. From leading worship, starting a food ministry, and leading small groups to name just a few. In all of those, the Spirit placed on my heart to start or to get involved and I was able to muster up the strength to step onto the path that was laid before me.
We are qualified and all God asks us to do is step into His light that illuminates our path and have faith in Him.
In 2017, God laid on my heart to use my talents that He created me with to allow others to share their stories and testimonies. I didn't know where to begin and I went into it blind. I just knew this is what I was to do and that is when Shine Your Light was born. It started with a series of videos initially and has now become more including a podcast and blog.
Often, we think our qualifications should lead us into positions of ministry like being a pastor, worship leader, children's director, or many other important roles within our church. This thought process often leaves us frustrated and confused because we don't feel pulled in those directions or qualified and we overlook a very important fact. God made us all unique with gifts and talents and stories to share that can spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encourage those around us.
We all have qualifications.
We all have a light to shine.
